June 22, 2017:  KXRM FOX 21 volunteers celebrated their Founder’s Day, the 21st birthday of their corporate owner Nexstar, by sending a crew out to Special Kids Special Families Administration offices at 424 W Pikes Peak Avenue.  Volunteers worked hard painting the wheelchair ramp, porches, shed and fence.  They hung new mini blinds in offices, washed windows and trimmed trees. They cleaned the debris from the front yard, driveway and cleaned the parking lot.

To top that off they were a really nice group of people!  FOX 21 staff has been donating items to a collection box in their office for the different programs at SKSF.  Their crew donated toys and books to the Zach’s Place program.  They also collected cleaning supplies and personal products to donate to the SKSF Adult Services program.  Amber Hope also dropped of checks totaling $100!

Since 1998, Special Kids Special Families, a Colorado 501c3 nonprofit organization, has been providing respite and care for children and adults with disabilities and special needs.  Various programs offer community support services to families and are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their lifespan.  For more information about volunteering with SKSF or their programs, visit online at www.SKSFcolorado.org or call 719-447-8983.
