Laughter is the Best Medicine: Night of Comedy supports children with disabilities
September 28, 2018: Helping people recharge and find respite are major goals of local Colorado Springs non-profit, Special Kids Special Families (SKSF). “Comedy and laughter gives some relief from sadness and pain and places a positive outlook on difficult situations. You could say it’s the best medicine,” says Linda Ellegard, SKSF Executive Director. Humor is contagious and lightens burdens, connects people, inspires creativity and improves physical and mental health. SKSF is inviting the public to come laugh, smile and join the fun during their 7th Annual Night of Comedy event on Saturday, October 20th at the Hotel Elegante Conference and Event Center. Featured comedian, Nancy Norton, 2018 Boston Comedy Festival winner, is a professional speaker and Registered Nurse that adds hilarious healthcare anecdotes and humor about her life experiences that will leave the audience in stitches! Guests will also be entertained by classical guitarist and composer, Shane Groothof, who is the Executive Community Liaison and lead mentor at the Colorado Springs Conservatory.
