ROARING at the Night of Comedy
October 28, 2017: Colorado Springs – They say laughter is the best medicine and is infectious when shared with others. Local nonprofit organization, Special Kids Special Families along with Presenting Sponsor, AspenPointe, invites the public to SKSF’s 6th Annual Night of Comedy signature event to help raise funds for Zach’s Place at the Laurie Hillyard Family Center. Zach’s Place is one of only two licensed respite/childcare centers in the state of Colorado with the focus and training to provide specialized care for children with intellectual, physical and emotional disabilities.
“The folks in Colorado Springs will definitely enjoy the humor of Jon Crist. We have a wonderful evening planned with fantastic silent auction packages and a special performance by Zach’s Place kids – it will be a fun night,” says SKSF Executive Director, Linda Ellegard.
This year’s comedian, John Crist, is a popular national touring comedian and viral sensation with over 100 million video views. Crist has solidified his comedic prowess with over 200 live shows a year. When asked where he finds the inspiration to write jokes, Crist says, “Shoot, I grew up in Georgia. My Dad is a pastor, and I was the third of eight homeschooled children. Coming from a background like that, how do you NOT write jokes?!”
Jon Karroll of KRDO NewsChannel 13 will host this year’s event as Master of Ceremonies. Presenting Sponsor, AspenPointe and other Sponsors include Academy Bank, Aspen View Homes, Koscove Metal, NuStar Energy, PSA Healthcare, RPS Healthcare, and Warren Management Group. Sponsorships are still available with information at www.SKSFcolorado.org.
