A new friendship has blossomed between our adult clients & Diane Reitan of Dianne's Dahlias!Dianne recently joined our Building Connections group for a career exploration day, sharing the inspiring story of how a single photo of a dahlia in a Martha Stewart magazine sparked a passion that grew into a thriving commercial dahlia farm right here in Colorado Springs. Our clients (who have applied, interviewed, and taken on roles within SKSF's own "garden company") were fascinated by the behind-the-scenes realities of transforming a love of gardening into a successful business. Along the way, they also fell in love with the beauty & magic of dahlias.Beyond inspiring their entrepreneurial dreams, Dianne encouraged our clients to be confident advocates & educators for individuals with disabilities. As someone who lives with a disability herself, her message of perseverance, self-advocacy, & possibility resonated deeply with the group. We are so grateful for Dianne's time, wisdom, & encouragement! We can't wait to visit Dianne's Dahlias this fall! #WeAreSKSF #SKSF #SpecialkidsSpecialfamilies #DianneDahlias #gardening #fortheloveofgardening #inclusiveactivities ... See MoreSee Less
