About Special Kids Special Families in Colorado Springs

OUR MISSION

To PROMOTE, STRENGTHEN and SUPPORT individuals with disabilities, their families and caregivers.

Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado non-profit 501(c)3 organization. SKSF was founded in 1998 to provide respite and care for children and adults with disabilities. Programs offer community support services to families that are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their life span.

OUR VISION

The vision of our organization is to create a community where those with disabilities have the resources, compassion and freedom to achieve the life that everyone deserves.

  • ZACH’S PLACE at the Laurie Hillyard Family Center: Providing respite to families & daycare to children with disabilities & special needs.
  • FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION: Providing loving homes for children in foster care.

Adult & Senior Services

  • JOEY’S PLACE ADULT CENTER: A center-based activity program for adults with disabilities & special needs.
  • COMMUNITY DAY PROGRAM: A community program that engages adults in recreational, social, and educational activities.
  • RESIDENTIAL HOST HOME: Providing caring & nurturing homes for adults with disabilities.
