Military & Veteran Support Services

SKSF loves our Veterans and Military families! We know and understand their unique culture and needs.  That’s why we’ve developed a number of culturally responsive offerings specifically tailored for military, Vets and their extended families.

PAWS-ABILITIES PROGRAM

Our innovative Paws-Abilities Program brings service animals to our programs through Victory Service Dogs.  Clients develop confidence, trust, empathy, and more.  Service dogs provide invaluable assistance to disabled youth and adults, enhancing their quality of life through increased independence, safety, and companionship.

EFMP: EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM

SKSF’S Zach’s Place child and respite care center participates in the EFMP offered by the military and has several youth who are able to receive care at Zach’s Place because of this great opportunity.

The goal of EFMP is to assist military families in dual demands as an active soldier and the special needs of a family member.  This program works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, medical, housing, educational, and personal services to families with special needs. Interested persons should contact their base installation EFMP Family Support Coordinator for additional details to get started.

MILITARY & VETERAN SUPPORT PARTNERS

SKSF partners with several fantastic local allies in this space including Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, USAFA Cadets, Home Front Military Network and others.  We offer all our diverse care and assistance services to those who have sacrificed and served (along with their families) from a trauma informed approach that focuses on their unique experiences.  At SKSF, we’ve got your six!
