Laughter is the Best Medicine – Night of Comedy event supports special kids program
October 24, 2019: Colorado Springs, CO – Helping people recharge and find respite are major goals of local Colorado Springs non-profit organization, Special Kids Special Families (SKSF). Comedy and laughter gives respite from sadness and pain and places a positive outlook on difficult situations. Humor is contagious and lightens burdens, connects people, inspires creativity and improves physical and mental health. You could say it’s the best medicine!
SKSF held it’s 8th Annual Night of Comedy event on Saturday, October 12th at the Marriott Colorado Springs and featured comedian, Cash Levy, a professional improvisator that worked the audience creating quick witted humor. The audience was also entertained by a dance number performed by the Zach’s Place youth to the pop tune Cant Stop the Music. Funds raised during this event help support Zach’s Place at the Laurie Hillyard Family Center, SKSF’s founding program. Zach’s Place is one of only two licensed daycare facilities in the state of Colorado with the focus and training to provide both respite and daycare for children with intellectual, physical and emotional disabilities. The event featured a live comedy show, a fantastic silent auction, raise the paddle auction, special Zach’s Place kids performance with 3 course plated dinner which included a glass of wine.
