August 5, 2024, Colorado Springs, CO – Special Kids Special Families is honored and grateful to have been chosen to receive a $20,000 state respite grant from the Colorado Respite Coalition! We are honored to be among other organizations dedicated to expanding respite opportunities in our community. The CRC received more applications than ever before and their review committee had the toughest pool of applicants. The Colorado Respite Coalition, a program of Easterseals Colorado, exists to encourage caregivers to take a break. The CRC vision is that all Colorado family caregivers have access to quality respite care resources—resources that allow them to take a break from caregiving—through a sustainable network that promotes collaboration and innovation. The CRC strengthens Colorado’s statewide lifespan respite care resource network for family caregivers and professionals and help families and professionals connect with respite care and caregiving resources. https://coloradorespitecoalition.org/

The 2024-25 State Respite Grantees list features Porchlight Friends, Seniors' Resource Center, Special Kids Special Families, and more. Included are the recognizable logos of the Colorado Respite Coalition and Easterseals Colorado. This lineup was thoughtfully curated, avoiding any notion of an auto draft approach.
