Special Kids Special Families was founded in 1999 and has three facilities in Colorado Springs. The organization supports children, adults, and seniors with special needs. According to the nonprofit, “We provide care at our day facilities, in the community, and in the home. We turn no one away for inability to pay.”

“We have been around for 25 years and this year is our Silver Anniversary,” said Porter. “Special Kids Special Families was started by a mom with a kiddo with special needs, frustrated by a lack of resources in the community, and she has started something that has grown and prospered and we are just so fortunate and blessed to do what we do every day.”
